Lancashire learner leads the way
Local lad Kevin Stone of Haslingdon is celebrating after becoming the first person in Lancashire to complete the innovative Learning Agreement Pilot scheme, walking away with a top class qualification and a £250.00 cash lump sum in the process.
As part of the scheme seventeen year old Kevin achieved his Level 2 Technical Certificate in Retail, which has now enabled him to increase his qualifications even further by enrolling onto a three year diploma in digital applications.
Both Kevin and his employer on the scheme, Focus DIY, have praised the Learning Agreement Pilot for successfully training young people in the work environment. Kevin comments, “I am really pleased by what I have managed to achieve over the summer. I have been greatly encouraged by my employers and the personal advisors at Rawtenstall Connexions, because of the scheme I am now able to do what I really want to do at college.”
